President’s Letter – 5.14.21

As I write this email, I cannot believe that it is already the middle of May. It appears that the cold weather is behind us and summer is on its way. Unfortunately, with warmer weather and more people out and about the neighborhood will see an increase in crime. Therefore, I have asked our neighborhood police liaison Treven Brown to attend and speak at our next West Central Neighborhood Association meeting. Treven will be speaking on crime trends, what the police department is seeing transpire in our neighborhood, proactive suggestions to prevent becoming a victim of crime and will also answer all of your questions and concerns. In addition to our guest speaker, we have a full agenda with updates and information.

Our neighborhood cleanup day will be held on Saturday, May 22nd at 9:00 am. The clean up day will kick off in the parking lot at the corner of Wilt Street and Van Buren Street. This is a great event working with your neighbors picking up trash, trimming bushes and clearing debris from alleyways. I hope that we have a large turnout of volunteers to make this event a success.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this week.
