WEST CENTRAL HOME & GARDEN TOUR IS QUICKLY APPROACHING
I hope this email finds everyone enjoying all of the downtown Fort Wayne summer activities. I cannot believe it is August already and that the home and garden tour is quickly approaching. This year’s tour will be held on September 11th and 12th. I am excited to announce that we have 11 spectacular homes and gardens on the tour this year. In addition to the Home and Garden Tour & the Arts festival, bands and food trucks will return to Wayne and Union Street this year. With that being said, we need your help. It takes well over 100 volunteers to successfully pull off the event. If you have not yet signed up to volunteer for the event, please click here to choose a time. You can buy tickets online here (and view a list of local businesses selling them in person). If you buy your tickets before the tour weekend, you’ll save $2 each.

ELECTRIC WORKS TO PROVIDE UPDATE AT MONDAY’S ASSOCIATION MEETING

RTM Ventures Developer, Kevan Biggs, will give an update and answer questions on Electric Works at the West Central Association Meeting which will be held Monday, August 16th at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church – 917 W. Jefferson Blvd. Kevan will be providing information on traffic and parking concerns, an updated project timeline, drawings and information on phase II north of the rail road tracks, along with additional project details. Please plan to attend this important meeting.

NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN UP DAY

The neighborhood cleanup day is Saturday, August 21st from 9am to 11am. This is an excellent opportunity to clean up our neighborhood as we get ready to host the community for the Home and Garden Tour.  We will meet at 9am at the parking lot of Van Buren and Wilt St. where the city will place a dumpster.

CRIME UPDATE
Be Aware – Officer Treven Brown our neighborhood police Liason has notified the WCNA that the West Central Neighborhood has seen an increase in packages being stolen off of porches, along with cars being broken into.  If you have a package that is delivered, please bring it in off of your porch as soon as possible. If you are not going to be home when your package is delivered, ask a neighbor to bring it inside for you.

SHOUT OUT
A big shout out to Steven Miranda and everyone that helped make the neighborhood block party a success. The block party was held on Saturday, July 24th at Moody Park and featured lunch, bounce houses and games for the kids. The biggest hit was the visit from the Fort Wayne Fire Department where the kids could see and sit in a fire truck!
