President’s Letter – 11.23.25

Hello Neighbors!

It’s another grand day in the ol’ West End Neighborhood.

This past meeting was our annual election of officers and it’s with great pleasure that I welcome Chris Todd as our new Treasurer for 2026. All others elected were incumbents from 2025 (see below). Thank you to all who volunteer their time and talents to this important body. I also want to extend one more big thank you to George Taylor for his years of service as a board member. He’ll be missed, but we know a still active neighbor.

At our November meeting, the topic of homelessness in the neighborhood came up again. As your board we realize this is a very important issue and there is a lot of passion and understandable frustration around it. We continue to raise concerns with the appropriate authorities and advocate for true solutions – which the Mayor has indicated she and her team are working on. While this may not satisfy some of you in the short run, we believe it’s the right course. In the meantime, destruction of property and inappropriate behaviors should be reported to the police. Additionally, if you’re experiencing trash or other residue from people living outside, you can call 311 and they will dispatch a team to clean it up.

Hope to see you all at the West Central Holiday Party on Monday, December 8 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. This year we’ll be at The Fairfield in the lower level room called the Barrel Room. In the meantime, hope you all have a wonderful and historic Thanksgiving! Remember there’s no shame in stretchy pants for the holidays.

See you on the front porch!
