Kirk Ray – CEO,
§ Mr. Ray discussed the FW Medical Residency Program to be initiated in the new expansion
§ The courtyard will still have a pass through
§ The project will add about 50 staff members
§ No project this big since 1980
§ The hospital will be making another announcement re: the burn center

St. Joe burn center is one of only two burn
centers in
· One of 131 in the country
§ The hospital will be conducting a recruiting campaign in the next 6-12 months
§ St. Joe has its own group which now has 16 members – they want to add 16 more
§ Hospital is renovating the cafeteria – want to maintain the historical perspective of West Central – maybe using old pictures

City has prepared a
§ Goal is to keep the historical and aesthetic value of the area
§ City will meet with homeowners and businesses to discuss ideas and concerns
§ Meetings have been scheduled for June 4 and June 5
§ Questions/concerns raised by WCNA attendees:
· CRED will not change
· What will happen to the old stadium –
o it is a competing venue
o how does that impact the new stadium
o decision will be up to the county commissioners since it is county property
· Concerns were raised about demolition on Broadway
· Concerns also raised about infrastructure and the ability to handle increased traffic flow

o Everything is pretty much set for the present
§ $3800 in sponsorships
§ July 1, 2007, is deadline date for sponsorships

· Planning Committee

CEDIT funds will be used for improvements from
o Study is being conducted which may delay improvements
o Home Buyer Education program and Homeowner Rehab program are available to qualified individuals

Flood Protection
o Alec Johnson and Tom Cain will check into alternatives to the wall
o Patricia O’Donnell is possible participant
o Need to establish a time frame for charrette
UNFINISHED BUSINESS

o General contractor Scott Stauffer has been selected
o Tower Bank loan will be signed later in the week
o Projected completion date is 90 days for sale – low to moderate income
o The house will be presented on the House Tour in September
· 1000 Block of Broadway
o 1000 block of Broadway has been proposed for a historical designation – this would protect the buildings in the future

City Council will have final vote – if
designation is approved,
