COMMITTEE REPORTS
· West Central House Tour
o Tickets can be purchased at Tower Bank, St. Joe Hospital Health Center, and Antiques on Broadway
o There is still time to volunteer
· Planning Committee
o A façade grant program is available to qualifying individuals
o Can receive up to $5,000 for approved home

Flood Protection
o The charrette was held with the result that a majority of those in attendance favored a 4-ft. wall to protect against some flooding.
o Discussion by those impacted revealed that the much of the water that gets into the basements is ground seepage rather that river water
o Alec Johnson and Tom Cain will take recommendations to Public Works
· Other
o Drug premises – how can we deal with them - can Association sue under law to deal with drug houses?
§ Drug premises legislation can be used
§ Met with city attorney’s office
§ Talk to Tim Pape
o Houses on Swinney and Stophlet are falling into disrepair – Code will recommend demolition if they continue to be neglected
UNFINISHED BUSINESS

o Will be on the House Tour
o Anyone is welcome to tour the house – need to set up time to do so
o About ½ of the money has been distributed
· 1000 – 1100 blocks of Broadway
· Scott Greider indicated that the petition has been changed to reflect that Scott and Bill Luepke are filing the petition
· HPC approved 7-0
· The church has been cordial, but Scott has sense that they will not cooperate
· He had a meeting with them but no results
· To this date, the vote appears to be 6 – 3
· Hearing is July 23, 2007, at 5:30 p.m.
· If council votes yes, Scott will go ahead with renovation
· 1100 block of Broadway is set for the same night

Joanne received help and was able to pick up 139
tires @ 75 cents each

NEW BUSINESS
· St. Joe photo display – will need to work on it after house tour
§ St. Joe will take care of the expense of matting and framing
§ Mike Anderson makes a motion to work with St. Joe on the project – Patrice Hunsberger seconds – motion passes
· BZA – Wayne and Nelson
§ Steve Walter is requesting a variance to install two furnaces due to two apartments
§ Use variance would be R-3
§ Mike Anderson makes a motion to support the request for the variance – Mike Yoder seconds – motion passes
§ Hearing is on August 30th at 6:00 p.m.
· Scrap Metal Ordinance
§ City Council is researching an ordinance to put restrictions on scrap metal sales
§ Would requires identification of individuals selling scrap metal
§ Would be only a city-wide ordinance and not county wide
§ JS wants to support the ordinance
§ Mike Anderson makes a motion to support the ordinance – Casi Bromelmeier seconds – motion passes
§ Letter by CAW to City Council in support of ordinance
· Scott Greider offered to talk to Brass Rail owner about activity at the bar
